Our Process & Quality Standards
Every JHL Drainage Solutions project follows a consistent process — from site assessment through installation and testing. No phone quotes. No generic solutions. No job is complete until the system performs as designed.
How Every Project Works
Site Assessment
Every JHL Drainage Solutions project begins with a site assessment — not a phone quote. We walk the property, assess slope and soil conditions, identify water entry points, and trace water movement across the entire site. No system gets designed until we understand exactly what's causing the problem.
Root Cause Diagnosis
We identify the specific cause of your drainage failure — negative grade, clay soil saturation, downspout discharge, neighbor runoff, or a combination of factors. The right solution depends on what's actually happening on your property. We won't recommend a French drain if regrading is what you need, or vice versa.
Custom System Design
Based on the assessment, we design a drainage system specific to your site — pipe sizing, depth, discharge routing, and system type selected for your exact conditions. We explain the design and provide a detailed estimate before any work begins. No surprises.
Installation & Testing
We install the system, test it under load, and confirm proper drainage before we leave. All disturbed lawn and landscape areas are restored after installation. We do not consider a job complete until the system performs as designed.
Quality Standards
Licensed & Insured
JHL Drainage Solutions is fully licensed and insured. We carry liability insurance and workers' compensation on every project.
Engineering-Grade Materials
We use Schedule 40 and SDR-35 solid pipe for main drainage runs. Perforated pipe in gravel-filled trenches with appropriate filter fabric for French drain systems. We do not substitute materials or cut corners on bedding or fabric.
Clean Gravel Only
French drain systems require clean, angular gravel — not bank-run or mixed aggregate. We specify and deliver clean gravel on every French drain installation. Dirty aggregate compresses and loses permeability over time.
Cleanout Access Standard
Every drainage installation includes cleanout access points. You should be able to inspect and maintain your drainage system — we build that in by default.
Lawn Restoration Included
All disturbed turf areas are reseeded and covered with straw after installation. We do not leave a job site with bare soil exposed.
